The Apocalypse of the Last Day - Part 1: The Revealing of the Revelation

I teach that the Apocalypse of the Last Day, which is when the Lord will be revealed, will occur after the Rapture and the resurrection of the dead takes place. The Bible clearly teaches that on the Last Day, the Lord Jesus Christ will be "revealed" from heaven, and that this event will occur simultaneously with Judgment Day; as we read in 2 Thessalonians.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed[G602] from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

The meanings of the Greek words "Apokalypto"[G601] and "Apokalypsis"[G602] are as follows: The verb "Apokalypto" [G601] means "to reveal" or "to disclose".  The Greek noun "Apokalypsis"[G602] means "revelation" or "appearance". Therefore, using these 2 words in the expression, "the revealing of the revelation", it would read as, "the "Apokalypto"[G601] of the "Apokalypsis"[G602.  The verb "Apokalypto"[G601] is used in the following passages.

Matthew 10:26 "Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed[G601]; and hid, that shall not be known."

Matthew 11:25 "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed[G601] them unto babes."

G601 means a disclosure of something that was previously hidden from people. God not only controls to whom spiritual revelation will remain hidden from, but also to whom it will be revealed to. When we look at passages that use the verb "Apokalypto"[G601] as related to the Last Day, we find:

Luke 17:29-30  But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed[G601].

In the passage above, God is directly correlating the revelation of Himself, or "Apokalypto"[G601], with the Last Day.
Following are more passages.

1 Corinthians 1:6-8  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye lack in no gift; waiting for the revelation [Apokalypsis-G602] of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also establish you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:6-7  Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the revelation [Apokalypsis-G602] of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation [Apokalypsis-G602] of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed [Apokalypsis-G602], ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 4:13 is telling us that we rejoice now, because when the glory of the Lord Jesus is revealed, which will occur at the Parousia of the Last Day, we as true believers will then experience exceeding joy, because we will be with the Lord for all eternity.
