Chapter 6 – The Ages of the Heavens and the Earth
It is not logical to believe that the 7 days of Creation in Genesis 1 were 7 literal 24 hour days, as even the sun was not created until the fourth Day. Because each of the 7 days of Creation in Genesis 1 ends with a prolonged period of darkness referred to as an “evening”, followed by a “morning” that leads to the beginning of the next Day, I believe that each of these Days represents an entire “Age” of the Creation of the heavens and the earth, and I will expound on each of these 7 Ages here.
The First Age
During the first Age of Gen 1:2, we see the Spirit of Elohiym hovering over the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God [Elohiym] created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohiym was hovering over the face of the waters.
At the beginning of the first Age we see the Spirit of God hovering over a dark, chaotic, watery substance. Since God is Spirit and is invisible to us, we could say that this Spirit of God was an “invisible” Spirit, but was hovering over what we could assume contained “visible” waters. What these waters contained, we are not told, but it was God’s will to establish order out of that chaotic watery substance. The first thing God did was to speak light into existence there, and light is something that is visible.
Genesis 1:3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light; that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
As the light of God penetrated into that dark watery chaos, God saw that light, passed judgment upon it, and declared it to be “good”. Therefore, it was during that first Age when the first “Judgment Day” took place because everything that did not reflect that good light from God was divided from everything that did reflect that light. In the 1 Thessalonians 5 the children of God are referred to as “sons of light and sons of the day”; and “not of the night, nor of darkness”; implying that the wicked are the children of the night, and of darkness.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore if we are to believe there were spirits already in existence within the watery chaos of that first Age, then it means they were present during that first Day of Judgment, and all those who accepted and reflected that good light of God became the sons of light and of the day. This is supported by Ephesians 1:4 which states that the redeemed were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world.
Ephesians 1:4 Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
The only way that Ephesians 1:4 can make sense is if our spirits were already in existence in that water chaos of the first Age. I believe evil already existed then, and that evil has always existed beside the light, similarly to that of a Yin and Yang symbol. Author Zen Garcia teaches in his books about the 3 ages of mankind: #1 - The pre-adamic Age, which is similar to what I teach about the sixth Age; #2 - The Age that existed during the Garden of Eden, which may of us refer to as the “eighth day”; and #3 - The “post Garden Age”, which he explains began after Adam and Eve lost their “light bodies” and were forced to leave the Garden of Eden, whereas I choose to look at the eight Age as one Age from Adam until today.
Day 1 started in the morning when the light of God rose over the dark waters, as it does on any morning. It endured an entire “day” (a prolonged period of light), during which the first Judgment Day occurred; and endured an “evening” (a prolonged period of darkness). Thus the first Age ended at the end of a period of prolonged darkness, arriving to the next “morning”, or the next rising of the light of God; the next Age.
In creation legends of various cultures around the world, we find this same recurring theme; that in the beginning there was darkness and chaos. According to the Nag Hammadi Codex entitled, "On the Origin of the World" (Codex XIII), nothing existed prior to the chaotic dark waters, except for the Spirit of the Most High God and His consort, Faith (called Pistis, also called Sophia, which is Wisdom). And in fact, according to this Codex, it was Sophia who was pregnant with the dark waters which came forth from her.
In a Chinese creation account we are told that in the beginning, the heavens and earth were still one and all was chaos. The universe was like a big black egg, carrying Pan Gu inside itself. After 18 thousand years Pan Gu woke from a long sleep. He felt suffocated, so he took up a broadax and wielded it with all his might to crack open the egg. The light, clear part of it floated up and formed the heavens, the cold, turbid matter stayed below to form earth.
In the Hindu creation account, the Universe first existed in the shape of darkness, void of distinctive marks, unknowable, wholly immersed in deep sleep, where a Divine Self-existent entity, himself indiscernible but was creating the elements to be discernible, appeared with irresistible power and dispelled the darkness.

In the Sumerian creation account, in the beginning there were 2 great deities, one that wholly consisted of fresh water and the other of salt water. When the 2 deities met, they entered into a marriage agreement and began to mix their waters together. From the mixing of these waters emerged 2 new deities, one that began to bring forth dry land and the other that began to bring forth the first plants.
If I spent the time to find more creation accounts from other cultures, I am certain that I would continue to find the same theme; that in the beginning there was water, darkness, and chaos, and from that dark watery chaos, light first appeared. There are many who teach that before the first day of Creation of Genesis 1, there was a great angelic war that annihilated the Earth, leaving it as a watery graveyard. The Sumerians also teach that there was a great battle between the newer generation of deities against the original primordial deities of the first generation, that ended with the destruction of the two original deities, and the substance of their corpses “recycled” if you will, into a new creation of the heavens and the earth. This type of creation/destruction theme is actually consistent with Biblical theology, as this is something that is described in the last 2 chapters of the Book of Revelation.
But this theory is inconsistent with all the other creation legends that teach that in the beginning a Divine entity created the light to shine in the darkness for the first time. The annihilated Earth theory must go against this teaching because it would have to believe there was light as well as angelics already in existence before the light was created to shine into the dark waters.
The Second Age
During the second Age of Gen 1 we see that Elohiym establishes a “firmament” for the purpose of separating what we can assume were different classification of “waters”. This was an important step needed in order for Elohiym to continue to establish order out of the chaotic waters of the first Age.
Genesis 1:6 Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
The Third Age
During the third Age we see Elohiym begin to gather the waters together into one place in order for dry land to appear and be able to sustain the vegetation He is about to create.
Genesis 1:9 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
During the second Age, God was beginning to separate the invisible spirit world of the angelics from the visible physical world of the earth. Now during the third Age, Elohiym is beginning to design and separate the visible physical elements of the waters that were under the heavens, and was also beginning to design the various molecules needed for the appearance of soil, fresh water, and sea water. We know that dry land as we know it today contains elements of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, etc, and pure water contains molecules of hydrogen and oxygen, and seawater contains H2O plus sodium, chlorine, and magnesium, etc., but no one can know for sure what types of molecules Elohiym was designing during the third Day. But it is during the third Age when we also see the first appearance of DNA, as all vegetation contains DNA; although again, it is uncertain whether the DNA structure that existed during the third Age was the same DNA structure that exists in our present Age.
Genesis 1:11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
According to the Sumerian creation legend, the beginning of dry land and vegetation came forth during the “second generation” of Elohiym, as well as a wise creative entity named Mummu.
Mummu (meaning 'maker', 'form', 'mold', 'matrix'), was a watery god of mist and crafts. Besides being Apsu's vizier, Mummu is the mold, or the undifferentiated substance, from which all things were made because it was Mummu's wisdom and creative powers that were necessary for the achievement of birth-creation. According to Gen 1:11, Elohiym again passed judgment on all of Creation, which included the DNA of all the vegetation that was growing, and He declared it to be “good”; then a period of “nighttime” passed, and the third Age ended.
As we can see that each Day of Creation ends with a prolonged period of darkness called “evening”, I earnestly believe that there is a destruction of the old nature of things that is taking place, where Elohiym is allowing the Destroyer to destroy the old. Then as the light of the morning begins to shine into the next day, Elohiym is then beginning to create a new Age with “new life” that He will continue to develop.
The Fourth Age
During the fourth Age, Elohiym created the sun, moon, and the stars, and set them into place in the firmament of the heavens.
Genesis 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
God again passes Judgment on the host of heaven, and declares His work to be “good”; (remember that God called the firmament heaven on Day 1, and because the stars are set there, they are considered to be heavenly bodies, which is why they are always referred to as the host of heaven).
According to the Sumerian creation legend, during the third generation of gods, two new entities emerge from the previous generation, and they are described as being “more powerful” than their parents.
It is written that Anshar and Kishar were twins born from the union between Lahmu and Lahamu. Anshar represented the “ends of the heavens”, and Kishar represented the “earth”. The name Anshar means “sky father”, derived from “an”, which means “heaven”, and “shar”, which means “horizon’s end”; the name Kishar means “earth mother”, derived from “ki”, which means “earth”, and “shar”, which means “horizon’s end. Anshar and Kishar are believed to have met at the horizon (where heaven meets earth), and they produced the first non-primeval gods, their firstborn son, Anu (supreme god of heaven), and a daughter, Ki (earth mother). It is said that Anshar and Kishar were formed more mighty and powerful than the others.
The Fifth Age
During the fifth Age, Elohiym created animals for the first time, again by the use of genetic DNA coding. Then a prolonged period of darkness passed, and the fifth Age ended.
Genesis 1:20 Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens." 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
The Sixth Age
God created all the mammals during the sixth Age, including the first race of humans. Mammals are different from fish and birds in that their DNA must provision for the growing of hair, or fur, the gestation of offspring inside the female’s womb, and the production of milk from the mother. Note that the first race of humans created on the sixth day were not the same race of humans as Adam and Eve.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
I want to draw attention here to the fact that the name Jehovah is never seen during the first six days of Creation, but rather it is evident that a pantheon of creator gods are creating man in their image and likeness as they say, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.”
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 29 And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Then a period of darkness (night) passed, and the sixth Age ended.
The Seventh Age
Elohiym, the pantheon of gods, rested during the seventh Age, and blessed it, and sanctified all that Elohiym had created.
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. 4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground.
It is obvious that the Creation account seen in Genesis chapter 2 differs from that of chapter 1, and some Bible scholars theorize that what is seen on the eighth day is actually the aftermath of a great angelic war. It is possible that the heavens and the earth were devastated by nuclear war between the 2 warring factions of the Anunnaki, after which Jehovah then proceeded to “form” Adam from the DNA left behind in the “ashes” of the ground, as the word “dust” in Genesis 2:7 also actually mean: “ashes” or, “rubble”.
Genesis 2:7 And the Jehovah Elohiym formed man of the [ashes] of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
